A status orange wind alert remains in place for Cork until approximately 14.00 today.

Cork City Council would like to advise that there is a risk of localised flooding on Morrison’s Island, Union Quay, Wandesford Quay and Crosses Green between 17.30 - 19.00 this evening (Wednesday Jan 3rd) and between 6.00am and 8.00am tomorrow morning (Thursday Jan 4th) due to high tides, and potentially high winds.

It is expected that the main impact of any tidal flooding will be on parking and traffic.

Cork City Council will continue to monitor the situation.
