Cork City Council presented with the two major awards from NISO

After five years of winning health and safety awards, the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) has awarded Cork City Council for its continuous high achievement.

The Council was presented with the two major awards, a Continuous High Achiever and a Distinction.  NISO Vice President, Michael O’Neill visited Cork City Hall this week where he presented Lord Mayor, Cllr Tony Fitzgerald,  Cork City Council Chief Executive Ann Doherty and Cork City Council  Health and Safety Officer, Paula Kennedy,  with the prizes.

The High Achiever Award was awarded  because of continual improvements to the safety management system at Cork City Council . Making a submission to the All Ireland Safety Awards also puts Cork City Council’s Health & Safety Management System under the scrutiny of an independent body.
