Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards Success

Chambers Ireland Local Authority Innovation Award 2016 Winner's Badge

Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards showcase best practice in Local Government and recognise the skills, hard work, innovation and enthusiasm within Local Government that can often go unrecognised.   At the 2016 Awards ceremony held on Thursday, 24th November, Cork City Council won the Award in the Local Authority Innovation category for its Litter Fine system.

The Litter Fine system allows the council's Litter Wardens record Litter offence details including photos and notes on a tablet device. The Litter Wardens can then generate Litter Fines, which are transmited via the mobile phone networks to the internal Litter Fine system.
