Parking in North Main Street Car Park will be free from 10a.m to 12 noon, Monday to Friday, for the month of September.

Cork City Now is a new free community messaging service for Cork City that allows you to register to receive the latest news happening in your local area. Cork City Now allows you to decide when and how you are kept informed about the issues you want to read about.
International Purple Flag Weekend
Cork City Centre holds the prestigious Purple Flag for surpassing the standards in the evening and night-time economy. International Purple Flag weekend will take place on October 7th - 9th and we are looking for city centre businesses to participate. For further information please contact email@example.com
Two new festivals will take place in Cork this month to add to our extensive festival calendar. A new comedy festival will take place on Sept 22nd – 25th. On the same weekend The Great Beer Festival will take place. This three day event in Cork's City Hall features craft beer from Irish producers, live music, lectures, brewing and food prep demos. Two more festivals will complete the month – The Cork Folk Festival will take place on September 28th to October 2nd and Decades Festival will take place on September 30th to October 1st .
Culture night takes place on Friday September 16th and is a fantastic celebration of the best of Cork music, literature, food, theatre, film, visual arts and much more all for free. More information
New City Centre Defibrillator
Well done to Cork Lions Club on installing a 24hr publicly accessible defibrillator in the city centre. This is located on the Penneys building on Oliver Plunkett Street – thanks to Penneys for facilitating. Cork Lions Club hope to install more in the city centre in due course and if any business would like to get involved please contact AED@corklionsclub.ie More information
Urban October Cork
Urban October in Cork is a programme of free events celebrating the City Centre. Urban October will include tours and talks,performances, workshops, and a whole lot more, aimed at all ages. The event will showcase how well designed and managed public spaces have a positive impact on people who live or work in the city. Feelgood Friday will provide a colourful festival-like atmosphere in the city, with lots of free events, live music, free finger food, late openings, special offers, and free drinks etc. Feelgood Friday will take place on Friday September 30th.
The Port of Cork is involved in a number of marketing projects to help promote Cork City as a cruise destination and area/region to visit all year round. Five cruise liners will visit Cork City in September. More information
