Bike Week 2013 runs from 15th to 23rd June and this year the National Opening Event will be held in Cork on Sunday 16th June, with lots of cycling activities for all ages throughout the week.
Sponsored by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, the aim of Bike Week is to celebrate cycling and get more people cycling so events for the week are geared to families, amateur cyclists, commuter cyclists and particularly the lapsed cyclist.
We have a fantastic line up for the week in Cork beginning with the National Opening Event on Sunday 16th June – a Family Fun Cycle around the city starting on St Patrick’s Street, followed by RampRage stunt bike displays, Bike Polo, Moonwalkers, Bike Circus and much more on Grand Parade. If you don’t have a bike, no problem – we have bikes available to rent.
Events during Bike Week include Operation Transportation, the lunchtime cycle to Fitzgerald’s Park, our mid-summer cycle hunt and an off-road pedal from Passage West to Blackrock Castle with more entertainment and fun! Schools and cycling clubs have also organised events.
So get the bike out and get cycling this June during Bike Week.
All events are free!
