To Business Owners whose properties incurred damage during the flooding event of June 28th, 2012.


The Department of Environment, Community and Local Government has asked Cork City Council to gather information in order to estimate the extent to which businesses in Cork City were affected by the flooding events of June 28th last.

Business owners are invited to submit the following summary information to the City Council  before Friday next,  August 10th. at 5 pm.

  1. The nature of your business (retail, professional, service etc.)
  2. The scale of your business in terms of approximate annual turnover and the number of employees.
  3. Whether your business was insured against this event
  4. In the event that it was uninsured, the reason why such insurance was not in place. (e.g. refusal of cover following previous flooding event etc.)
  5. The nature and extent of estimated monetary losses incurred through flood damage (physical damage to premises, furniture, stock etc.)
