“As a successor to Mac Curtain and Mac Swiney and in wearing the Lord Mayor’s Chain of Office, I am both humbled and honoured to read the historic minutes of Corporation meetings from the time, to symbolically launch the week of Civic Commemoration. One cannot but be affected by the hand of history such an event has on someone holding, as I do the title and privilege of the title of Lord Mayor”
