Cork City elects New Lord Mayor

At a meeting of Cork City Council held on Thursday 24th June 2010 at 7.30 p.m. in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Cork, Councillor Michael O Connell (Lab) was elected Lord Mayor of Cork for 2010-2011.

Cllr. O’ Connell was first elected to Cork City Council in 1999 and was Deputy Lord Mayor of Cork in 2006/2007. He represents the North West Electoral Ward in Cork City. Married to Catherine, Cllr O’ Connell has three adult children Aileen, Kieran, and Michael and works in the catering industry.
