Lady Mayoress presents cheques to International Women’s Day charity concert beneficiaries

On Friday April 23rd 2010  Cork’s Lady Mayoress Tanya Murphy presented cheques to representatives of Women of Concern and The Cork Sexual Violence Centre both being the beneficiaries of the proceeds of the charity lunchtime concert held on International Women’s Day 2010 in the Concert Hall, City Hall, Cork.

Speaking at the presentation the Lady Mayoress stated:

"I know I speak for the organisations who will benefit and for myself when I say we were overwhelmed by the generosity of the acts who participated and the people of Cork who attended this year’s event. I would like once more to pay tribute to them, to the organizing committee, the staff in City Hall and all who provided goods and services on the day in question. I know the money raised will be put to good use."
