The Irish Sopranos

Described as “Working mums with a passion.......a passion for singing and bringing entertainment to their audiences” the Irish Sopranos - Wendy from Cork, Kay from Tralee and Deirdre from Wexford - are a glamorous trio with stunning voices, who sing songs with a beautiful colour of trio harmonies that would bring a tear to your eye, "The blend of these three soaring voices would melt even the hardest of hearts" – NY Times. These lovely ladies have been touring for the last eight years but all three have managed to combine married life and motherhood with their singing careers.

They have performed in such prestegious halls as Carnegie Hall, New York City, with NY City Orchestra, Severence Hall, Cleveland, Ohio, with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, the Waldorf Astoria N.Y.city and the National concert Hall Dublin, with the RTE Concert Orchestra - to name but a few.  At the Waldorf they were the special guest artists to honour the Munster Rugby team and Irish actor,Gabriel Byrne. They too graced the pitch of Thomond Park  to sing 'Stand up and fight' for the final Munster Rugby game prior to its fantastic renovation.

The Irish Sopranos are in constant demand in the United States where they tour mainly east coast and the mid-west annually. Between them the girls have a wealth of experience from lead singer with Riverdance to soloists on the international operatic and concert platforms.  On 11th March they embark on a tour of California and Arizona and have many cruises lined up over the next two years. Before they take off to the USA the girls have been invited by the Lady Mayoress to do a lunchtime Fundraising Concert in aid of Women Of Concern and the Cork Sexual Violence Centre, for International Womens Day on 8th March and are delighted to be part of this.

Monday's programme also includes:

  • Two Cork city choirs
