Water for sanitary purposes only – Update (3.30 p.m. 24/11/2009)

Cork City Council wishes to advise the media and the public that 4 additional sanitary water points have been added to the existing 34 water points notified earlier.

These are in place in the north east and north west of Cork city.  

The additional points are located at:

North East

Mervue Lawn

Wellington Road/Belgrave Avenue

North West

Fitz Boreen

Fairfield Avenue (bottom of the hill)

Cork County Council has advised that water tankers are available on the northern outskirts of the city at the following locations:

Sunset Ridge Hotel, Rathapeacon N.S., Mount Desert Hospital, Barnavara Estate, Mayfield GAA Pitch.

These water tankers will remain on site and are serviced daily until water supply is restored to all houses. For more information please visit  the website of Cork County Council at http://www.corkcoco.ie
