Non Principal Private Residence (NPPR) Charge

The Local Government (Charges) Act 2009 introduced a new charge of €200 on residential properties. The annual charge relates to each and every residential property owned by a person/s that is not their sole or main residence. A person’s sole or main residence commonly referred to as a principal private residence (“PPR”) will not be subject to the charge. The charge is payable by the owner(s) of the NPPR to the Local Authority in whose area the property concerned is located.

You can pay the charge on-line at the www.nppr.ie  website.  More information on who is liable to pay NPPR is available from
