Garda John O’Connor and Garda Nikki McMahon at the course.
The Housing & Community Directorate, together with the Gardaí, provided a Pre-Tenancy Course in The Commons Inn on Friday 24th April 2009 for the Susie's Field Scheme which is due to be completed shortly. Prospective tenants were provided with advice in the areas of rent management, maintenance, tenancy enforcement, community and tenancy participation, refuse collection, litter management and general information on services and supports being provided in the area. Prospective tenants also had an opportunity to view the site layout and raise queries with employees of Housing & Community, the Community Warden and local Gardaí. The intention of the course (which is a pre-requisite for all new tenants of Cork City Council) is to lay the foundations for sustainable communities and to foster a sense of shared commitment to the future of those communities.
