Cork City Council shortlisted for two Zurich LAMA Awards 2009

Cork City Council is delighted that its website  has been nominated for a Zurich LAMA Award  - “Best use of External Communications” - for its webpages     These webpages reflect Cork City Council’s involvement in the many and varied activities that impact on the lives of those who live, visit and work in Cork city.  It has proved very useful for both Cork City Council and the user to have a dedicated section on the website for news items.

Cork City Council’s new extension to the City Hall has also been shortlisted for “Best Eco-Friendly Building” (nominated by ABK Architects).

The Local Government, City & County Council Awards, were created to honour exemplary projects within the community.  They seek to generate recognition of the efforts, accomplishments and positive contributions of the individuals, companies and local government authorities who make these happen.

The LAMA (Local Authority Members Association) Awards Ceremony 2009 takes place on Saturday, 24th January 2009 in the Citywest Hotel, Co. Dublin, where the winners will be announced.  The full list of those shortlisted in each of the 22 categories may be viewed at
