Courtesy visit by Lt.Cmdr. Fabice Auderon of the French vessel Cassiopee

Lord Mayor Cllr. Brian Birmingham exchanging gifts during a courtesy visit by Lt.Cmdr.Fabice Auderon of the French vessel Cassiopee on Friday 9th January 2009.

Earlier in the week the Cassiopee had visited Bantry where the French and Irish Navies took part in ceremonies to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Betelgeuse Disaster at Whiddy Island . French Ambassador       Roe D'Albert laid a wreath at the Memorial in the Abbey Cemetery in Bantry on behalf of the French Government as part of the ceremonies.
