Tour de Munster 2008

TOUR DE MUNSTER CYCLING PIC 2 CROWD

Pictured above, on Thursday 14th August 2008, a team of 'leisure' cyclists at the start of a four-day 600km charity cycle which will take them through all the counties of Munster, being seen off by Deputy Lord Mayor Cllr. John Buttimer (in cycling gear talking to Sean Kelly) outside Cork's City Hall.

Participants in the 5th Annual Tour de Munster will collect individual sponsorship.  The tour will be accompanied by volunteers who hope to leverage the event with collections in the cities, towns and villages along the route.

Participants cover their own expenses and all funds raised go directly to Enable Ireland.

Sean Kelly (seated), famous for his exploits in the Tour de France, signing the Visitors Book in the Lord Mayor's Chamber with Donal Cashman, Chairperson, Enable Ireland, John Slattery, cycling participant and Deputy Lord Mayor Cllr. John Buttimer.  In the past, Sean has both started and participated in this charity cycle.
