A sum of €30,000 was provided in the 2007 budget for the removal of chewing gum from St. Patrick’s Street.  This is the third year in a row that funding has been provided for this work following the upgrading of St. Patrick’s Street.

Cork City Council sought tenders by public advertisment in August 2007.  The contract was awarded to Powersolve Ltd.  The work was carried out between 10pm and 9am from 21st October and 6th November 2007.
