John Coghlan, World Wide President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, is honoured by Cork City Council

On Friday 30th March 2007, the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Michael Ahern, and Cork City Council hosted a Civic Reception in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Cork, for John Coghlan, World Wide President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

In addressing the large attendance, the Lord Mayor paid tribute to the work of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and in particular to John Coghlan on his recent appointment.

“CIMA is a very substantial organisation and to be elected to the highest position in that organisation is an achievement indeed.” The Lord Mayor continued “I congratulate you on your achievement. I thank the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants for their contribution to the world of business since its inception in 1919. I thank them for their contribution to the business life of this country since that time and I thank them especially for their contribution to the advancement of the city of Cork.”
