The Lord Mayor's St. Patrick’s Day Ball was launched on Tuesday, 13th February 2007 by the Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr. Michael Ahern in the Lord Mayor's Chamber, City Hall.

The Ball which has been running for the last number of years will once again be held in the City Hall on Saturday, 17th March. The night will commence with a pre-dinner wine and drinks reception in the Millennium Hall, followed by dinner in the Concert Hall and then rounding off the night with dancing into the early hours.

The Lord Mayor's St. Patrick’s Day Ball is a major fundraising event. The recipients nominated by the Lord Mayor this year are Enable Ireland Cork, Tabor Lodge Ltd. and Marymount Hospice.

Speaking at the launch, the Lord Mayor said that he is delighted to be involved with this year's Ball which is in aid of three very worthwhile organisations. "No doubt Cork will once again support the event as in past years. It will be a very enjoyable night and an enjoyable way to mark the Feast Day of St. Patrick. The Ball is again being supported by the Evening Echo and along with the many volunteers on the Organising Committee, led by Chairperson Michael Geary, they are deserving of my thanks."

Tickets for the event are now available. Tables of ten at €1,500 may be purchased on receipt of completed Booking Form which is available on request from the Lord Mayor’s Office tel: (021) 4924120 / 4924213 or email catherine_foley@corkcity.ie.
