Flood Precautions Cork City

Flood Precautions Cork City

A natural cycle of High Tides is predicted in February on the following days and times.

Monday 19th February 2007, 18.56
Tuesday 20th February 2007 07.20, 19.36
Wednesday 21th February 2007, 08.02, 20.17
Thursday 22nd February 2006, 08.45, 20.59

The peak tide is predicted for Tuesday morning 20th February 2007.

Predicted Heavy Rainfall, Southerly Winds, and Low Barometric Pressure, increase the tide levels over the above tide levels.

During these tide periods there is a danger of flooding in the City. It is possible that flooding may occur in the low lying areas of the City Centre, including Lavitt’s Quay, Kyrl's Quay, Union Quay, Trinity Bridge, Sawmill Street, Cotter Street, Stable Lane and areas adjoining. Precautionary measures should therefore be taken to protect property.
