Kinsale Road Interchange Scheme Progress Update

Works on the scheme are progressing well and we remain confident that the works will be completed by October 2006, nearly 6 months ahead of schedule.

Construction of the final wearing course is now underway and will continue over the coming weeks. Unfortunately these works cannot be carried out at night for quality control reasons and lane restrictions will be in place at various stages over the coming weeks. We will use the local media and electronic signs on the site to provide a minimum of 24 hours notice of each restriction. Motorists should take an alternative route where possible during these periods.

In order to minimise disruption to traffic, traffic management measures will include opening the flyover to traffic in both directions in advance of overall completion. Traffic will be using the flyover before the end of August.

On Monday 24th July westbound traffic will be restricted to one lane at Pouladuff Overbridge. This restriction will be in place from 10a.m. to 5 p.m. and motorists are advised to take an alternative route where possible.

Further notification will be circulated on Monday 24th July advising of any lane restrictions on the 25th and 26th July.

As always, if you have any queries please contact us on the above number or on the helpline number 021-4824342.
