Cork City Council promoting fire safety over Christmas

Cork City Fire Department were on the Grand Parade on Monday December 19th  giving out valuable information on fire safety at Christmas. People were invited to visit their community fire safety unit to experience what is it’s like to put out a fire on their digital fire extinguisher simulator and discover what a fire-fighter sees though digitally active smoke goggles.

Cork City Fire Brigade’s special 1951 Vintage Rolls Royce Fire Brigade Engine was also on display. The vintage engine which was re-launched by the Cork Fire Brigade was located outside the National Monument on the Grand Parade from 4pm-8pm.

A Cork Christmas Celebration organised by Cork City Council in association with Bord Gáis Energy continues during Christmas week and will run right up until Wednesday evening December 21.
