The award winning festival A Cork Christmas Celebration presented by Cork City Council in association with Bord Gáis Energy culminates this Wednesday December 21st with an audio tour of the “Christmas Wishes” themed Bishop Lucey Park. The tour which has been produced by Arts & Disability Ireland and Cork City Council has been especially adapted for blind and visually impaired people, their families and their friends.

The tour involves live commentary of the visual elements of Bishop Lucey Park and visitors are invited to interact through a combination of touch and live description.

Liz Meaney, Arts Officer of Cork City Council said “We are delighted to welcome Arts Disability Ireland to Cork. As a local authority, it is crucial for us that our events and activities are accessible to all of our citizens. We see this facility as expanding the reach of A Cork Christmas Celebration and hope that this is the first of many such engagements”

The tour will take place at 3.30pm in Bishop Lucey Park on Wednesday December 21st. As places on the tour are limited pre-booking is essential.
