Civic Reception for Cork Footballers in Honour of their Victory in 2010

On Tuesday 21st December 2010, the Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr Michael O Connell hosted a Civic Reception in City Hall, to honour the 2010 Cork Senior Football team.

The Lord Mayor congratulated the team on their All Ireland win in September “It’s a great honour for me to welcome you here this evening to celebrate a fantastic year for Cork football. Some people wait a lifetime to be honoured with a civic reception. This is the second time this year we have had reason to congratulate you”.

He also congratulated the various people involved in the background with the team including the Cork County Board
"I congratulate all of your trainers, selectors and anyone who had any part in your team’s preparations.I congratulate your respective county boards for creating the environment for your team to prosper".
