Water Supplies Update - Cork City Council 4th January, 2011

Cork City Council leak detection and repair crews continued to make good progress in reducing water losses over the past weekend.

All areas in the city should now be receiving normal daytime supplies and standpipes have been removed. If  people are not receiving a water supply in areas where normal supply has been restored the likelihood is that the problem may be internal to their own system.

The number of areas with night time restrictions has been reduced by approximately 75%. This is due to leak repairs by council staff and members of the public who have repaired leaks and burst pipes on their properties.

However night time restrictions  will continue to apply in a few areas of the city tonight 4th Jan and tomorrow night 5th Jan ( 7.00p.m to 10.00a.m). A revised map outlining these affected areas is attached  below.  It is hoped that these areas will be reduced further in the coming days.

The City Council wishes to acknowledge with thanks the efforts made by consumers to repair leaks on their properties in recent days. Offices and other commercial buildings reopening after the holiday period should be checked for leaks and repairs effected as quickly as possible.

Customers experiencing difficulties can continue to contact our information line on 021 4966512 (24 hours a day)
