Major Cities of Europe Annual Conference 2009

The Major Cities of Europe IT User's Group is an independent group of representatives from cities all over Europe. The objectives of the group are:

  • To effect a voluntary exchange of ideas, visions and experience between members of the Group for the purpose of improving the performance of local government by using information technology.
  • To represent the collective interests of members of the Group in discussions with public authorities, suppliers of information technology and other relevant organizations at an European level.

The Major Cities of Europe annual conference took place form the 25th – 27th May 2009 in Cork City, Ireland.

The conference themes were:

  • Innovation at work
  • New Models for Service Delivery
  • Trust, service and information continuity
  • Future of the CIO

Cork is Ireland’s second city and is also know as the capital of the south.  The city is a gateway to the south of Ireland known for its natural beauty of scenic contrasts with mountains meeting spectacular coastlines and unforgettable picturesque towns and villages.
