New Measures

The re-introduction of the St. Patrick’s Street bus priority corridor is to be accompanied by the range of measures to improve and encourage access to the city centre.

Free Set Down Spaces

From August 9th, a network of set down spaces will be available around Cork City Centre. The set-down spaces will be free, but will have a 15 minute parking limit.

The spaces are located on: South Mall, Grand Parade, Parnell Place, Drawbridge Street and Cornmarket Street.

The spaces will improve accessibility and provide for drop off/pick up facilities for shoppers and visitors in the heart of Cork City Centre.

The spaces will be monitored to ensure they are working as planned, after 15 minutes the space must be vacated so as to be available for the next customer to use.

Black Ash Park & Ride Extension of Opening Hours

The facility will now operate from 06:45 to 20:30 (Monday to Saturday).

The first bus will depart at 07:00.

The last bus will depart St. Patrick’s Street at 20:10

Bus Eireann Re-Route Buses

To bring people into the heart of the city, some bus services will stop on St. Patrick’s Street.

Route 203 (City Centre to Blackpool/Farranree)

From Sunday 29th July, Route 203 heading northbound to Blackpool/Farranree will travel through the City Centre via Grand Parade & St. Patrick’s Street. There will be 2 new stops for the 203 at:

  • Grand Parade (opp Argos)
  • St. Patrick’s Street (north of Easons)

The southbound route from the City Centre to Ballyphehane/Lehenaghmore remains unchanged.

These changes together with the St. Patrick’s Street bus priority corridor will improve services.
