Shop N Drop - Cork City Centre's Christmas Shopping Valet Service

Breakthrough Cancer Research is delighted to announce that Cork city centre’s very own Shop ‘N’ Drop Christmas Shopping Valet Service will begin this Saturday.
Shoppers will be able to leave their shopping bags at the secure Shop ‘N’ Drop so they can enjoy all the city has to offer during the festive season -  bag free!


Located at 1/ 2 Cook Street (previously Specsavers), just off Patrick Street and opposite Opera Lane, the service, which will ask for a small donation from shoppers, is the first of its kind in Cork city centre. It is led by Breakthrough Cancer Research and supported by the Cork City Centre Forum.

 Breakthrough Cancer Research is an Irish medical cancer research charity founded and based in Cork. It was launched to inspire and enable financial support for exceptional research into cancer in Ireland leading to more effective treatments for patients in this country and overseas. Breakthrough focuses on funding world-class cancer research into poor prognosis cancers, which are poorly served by current treatment options. It facilitates collaboration between scientists and clinicians across Ireland and internationally and translates lab discoveries into new effective treatments for cancer patients today, tomorrow and into the future.

In doing so, you will be supporting the fantastic work of Breakthrough Cancer Research dedicated in their work bringing forward more innovative and potentially life-saving cancer treatments. The Shop ‘N’ Drop service will open to shoppers on Saturday 8th December until Sunday December 23rd with the service open from 11-7pm Monday to Saturday catering to the busiest time of the day (lunchtime and after work). The Sunday service will open from 12 – 5pm.

This service is one of a number of gifts to City Centre visitors this Christmas being provided through collaboration between various stakeholders. It’s never been easier to visit the city centre with free parking for motorists who enter North Main Street or Paul Street car parks after 5p.m. Thursday to Saturday. The Black Ash Park and Ride has also extended opening hours until 10p.m. on the same days and there is a temporary park and ride in County Hall on Saturday and Sundays.  For more information re access please see www.corkparking.ie
