LEO info sessions take the mystery out of Brexit for small businesses

With Brexit fast approaching, Cork City Council’s Local Enterprise Office (LEO) is hosting a practical information session for small businesses (i.e. businesses employing 10 or less).

LEO Brexit Info Sessions

The event is on Friday, 18 October in the Meetings & Events Centre, Clayton Hotel Silver Springs in Tivoli, from 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.

This FREE session will explain Brexit using straight forward language including key related terms like ‘trading under WTO rules’ and identify the most common risks posed by Brexit for the Irish micro business sector and how to deal with them.  It will also cover the extensive range of supports available through State agencies (many of them completely free) including the LEO supports and help you deal with the fallout from same.

The session will include:

  • An update on the current status of the Brexit process.
  • Explain key Brexit terminology like 'trading under WTO rule' and 'The Backstop'
  • Identify the most common (obvious and less obvious) risks posed by Brexit for Irish businesses –  and how to deal with these.
  • Outline the range of supports available through State agencies like the Local Enterprise Office, InterTradeIreland and Enterprise Ireland - there are considerable supports available and each support will be explained

Following the seminar, the Brexit advisor will stay on at the venue until 1 p.m. to deal with any business-specific, confidential queries attendees may wish to discuss with him.

While this session is free to attend, attendees must book online in advance to secure a place.  Bookings can be made here:
