Cork City Council Launches 2020 Dog Fouling Awareness Campaign

18th February 2020

Members of the Anti Dog Fouling Committee have been visiting schools in Blarney, Douglas, Glanmire and Mayfield in recent days  to kick start the 2020 dog fouling awareness campaign with the launch of the 2020 primary schools poster competition. This year ten schools were nominated by the committee to participate in the competition. The competition is for 4th & 5th class pupils and this year in excess of 800 children will be involved in the competition.

The Anti Dog Fouling Committee strongly believes that awareness and education play a key role in combating the anti-social behaviour of some dog owners.

Today’s children are the young adults and leaders of tomorrow and it is important that the message of responsible dog ownership is impressed upon them.

There are prizes aplenty  for the children taking part  with the overall winner receiving  €100 and the winning school receiving €500.

The competition will run until 27th March 2020 with the overall winner being announced in April, 2020.
