This year Cork City Council has prepared a “virtual” Cork Heritage Open Day where we invite you to take an online adventure and explore many of the buildings usually open to the public for this event, using the website. You can take a virtual tour of many buildings, listen to interviews with the building owners who give their personal insights into their buildings and hear local historians talk about a variety of fascinating topics.

In addition we have coordinated a number of online heritage week events ranging from natural heritage videos, virtual walking tours and fun quizzes and competitions

This jam packed fun programme of events is guaranteed to have something for everyone young and old

Cork City Council would like to thank all the Heritage groups and organisations as well as the many building owners who worked so hard to make this virtual event a reality

This year Heritage Week is taking place virtually from August 15 to August 23rd. The Heritage Council has invited communities around the country to undertake projects that explore a topic associated with this year’s theme- Heritage and Education: Learning from our Heritage. The new approach is in response to the Covid 19 pandemic and is designed to promote the sharing of experience and knowledge and showcase projects online.
