Discovery Exhibition 2007

On Sunday November 18 from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. – it’s Family Day and open to all; while visits to the exhibition from Monday November 19 to Wednesday 21 are for pre-booked school groups only. Thousands of students aged from 10 – 16 will visit City Hall over the three days.

The exhibition, organised in association with Science Week Ireland, aims to encourage interest among young people in science, engineering and technology by giving them memorable experiences in a stimulating environment. Visitors to City Hall will find lots of interactive displays and hands-on experiences to enjoy.

During Science Week Ireland (November 11-17) there is a special programme of outreach events, including workshops and illustrated talks in schools, and visits by school groups to science centres in the Cork area – among them the recently opened Blackrock Castle Observatory, Lifetime Lab, Fota Wildlife Park.

Discovery 2007 is organised by the Economic Working Group of Cork City Learning Forum, set up by the City Development Board, to promote Cork as a City of Learning.
