Cork City Council as part of Science Week Ireland and Cork Science Festival 2016 presents TWO exciting shows on Saturday 19th November 2016
'Science Rising: Small Beginnings'
Balloon tricks, spinning plates, bubbles and more!
Street Scientist Anna brings colour and brightness to these dark November days with colourful balloons, spinning plates and other fun illustrations of basic science principles. As Winnie-the-Pooh famously said ‘No-one can be uncheered with a balloon’, and Cork’s smallest scientists, aged 4-8, will love this 75 minute show of simple science tricks.
Shows at 11am, 2pm and 4pm.
Adults must be accompanied by a child, and vice versa. Walk-ins welcome subject to capacity, but booking recommended:
'Science Rising: The Big Picture'
A spectacular 3D tour of our Solar System with Space Sector Advisor Robert Hill.
Combining images from the Hubble European Space Agency Information Centre with the largest 3D screen of its kind in Ireland, Rob will bring us to visit the International Space Station as it whizzes around planet Earth. Then we travel back in time to witness the Sun burst into life, and take a virtual flight over the surface of the Red Planet. Glimpse your place in the cosmos and try to answer the question ‘How big is big?’ in this hour-long show for over 8’s and adults.
12:30, 3:30pm, 5:30pm and 7:30pm
No unaccompanied children please. Walk-ins welcome subject to capacity, but booking recommended:
