Swimming Pools

One indoor swimming pool is being operated by Leisureworld on behalf of Cork City Council – Gus Healy Pool, Douglas. The Gus Healy Pool is open all year round and is available to Clubs, Schools and other organisations, as well as to the general public.

Fess are €4.00 for adults and €2.00 for children and old age pensioners.

Leisure World, Bishopstown

The Leisure World facility comprises of a 6-lane 25m swimming pool, gym, aerobic and steam room. The facility is owned by the City Council and operated by a company set up the City Council and trading as Leisureworld.

The directors of the company represent Cork City and County Councils, Cork City and County VECs, UCC and Cork CIT, under the chairmanship of Mr. D.J. Buggy, Assistant City Manager. Staff comprises 12 full-time and 20 part-time staff.

Leisureworld has proven extremely popular with the swimming public and to cater for the demand, an additional swimming pool area, four all weather pitches, new gym and refurbishment changing area have been added in the past year.
