Ted McCarthy Municipal Golf Course

Cork City Council has provided a Municipal 18-hole Golf Course at Mahon. It is set between Clover Hill and the estuary of the Douglas River and commands a delightful view of Lough Mahon and the gently sloping hills of Rochestown.

The course receives constant praise for its excellent condition. The amenity continues to be a success with golfers. Green fees are available and golfing societies are welcome to reserve the tee. Local Rules

1. Out Of Bounds (Rule 1 - 27)
(A) All Out of Bounds marked by White Stakes .
(B) Over all Boundary Walls , Fences and Seashore .
(D) Practice putting green

2. Obstructions (Rules 23 -26 )
(A) All Water Installations , Sewage treatment unit left of 18th fairway, Sprinkler Valve Covers and manhole Covers .
(B) Markers , Notices , Seats and Bins .

3. Water Hazard(Rule 26)
Reed bed to the right of 6th,7th,8th fairways, to the left of the 17th fairway, as defined by red markers. To the front of the 16th green, as defined by yellow markers.

4. Roads And Pathways
Relief from roads, pathways and stone drains except road to the left of the 10th fairway- one club length from point of relief .

5. Stones In Bunkers
Stones in Bunkers may be removed without penalty .

6. Ground Under Repair
A ball coming to rest within a designated GUR area - Free lift and drop one club length not nearer the hole.
